Training And Licensing

Pauline and Sally offer training in the Chronic Disease Self Management Program (CDSMP), Diabetes Self Management Program (DSMP) and Chronic Pain Self Management Program (CPSMP).

In addition, our comprehensive training provides trainees with the knowledge on:

  • Current evidence and self management principles
  • Australian trends in self management
  • Skills and resources required to coordinate local community programs

We can provide training at your organisation. We will train 10-24 Leaders and/or Master Trainers. Master Trainers will enable you to sustain the community courses in your organisation, as they can serve as your own on-site trainers for the future. You can also combine your training with other organisations in your area to reduce your costs.

Contact us for training dates, fee schedules or an individualised training quote.

Our programs have been developed at the Stanford Patient Education Research Centre (SPERC), directed by Professor Kate Lorig RNDrPH. For more than 25 years SPERC has developed, tested, and evaluated self management programs for people with chronic health problems. Once a program is developed, it is evaluated through randomised, controlled trials and then publicly disseminated.

All programs are licensed by SPERC. For more information about licensing requirements, please Contact Us or see http://patienteducation.stanford.edu/licensing/

National Council on Aging are licensed to offer the online suite of Stanford programs, please Contact us if you are interested in the online programs.
